Create an alphabet based on ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. Create one hieroglyph for each of the 26 letters in our alphabet. You may research the Egyptian letters and use that as some ideas of how to create your letters. The symbols need to mimic Egyptian artwork. The hieroglyphs should be neat, colorful, and detailed. It is important to not simply draw them on a piece of paper, but make it an appealing project by using creativity to make it pop out. Finally, write a message to the class that is 5-8 sentences long, using your Egyptian alphabet. While your alphabet needs to be colorful, your message may be drawn/painted, etc. in a simple fashion.
You will share your alphabet with the class during class presentations, and the message that you wrote. The class must be able to decipher your message. You will need to research what symbols ancient Egyptians used for their letters and how they decided on those specific symbols. Notes must be kept in a separate document and turned in with the project. Works must be cited.
